The elbow-length sleeves are sewn in by hand with a backstitch. The undersleeve is ivory satin; the upper sleeve is net covered with pearl appliqués. To create a slashed effect, satin bands are applied over the pearls. Self-fabric strips are sewn over the bands to simulate knotted bands. Ivory satin cockades are applied at the elbows.
