Inscription: Engraved with regimental coat-of-arms in top reserve; Engraved on body, in proper right reserve: "TO/Col. A. Duryee./this/TESTIMONIAL IS PRESENTED/on his/retireing (sic) from the Colonelcy/of the/SEVENTH REGIMENT/NATIONAL GUARD./as a mark of high/appreciation."; In proper left reserve: " From/his Fellow Citizens/for his soldier like/qualities and for the/valuable services/rendered/by the REGIMENT during/the eleven Years that he/commanded it./NEW YORK./1859."
