Handle reset if not replaced, old repairs at base and old break at lip. Inscription: Engraved on one side of body with initials in reverse cipher within scrolled, foliated cartouche with floral chaplet above: AJ. Other side engraved with arms of the Jay family, engraving rubbed: [Argent a chevron gules between in chief a demi-sun in splendor between two mullets argent and in base a bird on a rock] / [two entwined hearts as a crest, surrounded by festoons, swags, and two cherub supporters] / [right cherub holding arrows and bowknot.] Mark: Unmarkedteapotsilver (metal)H: 5 3/4in.
