This group of manuscripts was assembled by Edward Floyd De Lancey (1821-1905), and purchased by the Museum in 1942 through the Ms. Elon Huntington Hooker Acquisitions Fund. These manuscripts pertain to the affairs of several notable associated New York families – including the DeLancey, Floyd, Jones, and Jay families – and date from the 17th though the 19th centuries. The Museum is grateful to The Robert David Lion Gardiner Foundation, whose generous support has made it possible for the Museum to share these materials with the public through processing and digitization.
