New York City History Day 2020: Breaking Barriers in History
The Museum of the City of New York is proud to host the 30th Annual New York City History Day, in March 2020. This album draws from the Museum’s collection of approximately 750,000 items to engage this year’s National History Day theme: “Breaking Barriers in History.” Explore artifacts, photographs, manuscripts, ephemera, and art related to various topics in New York City’s past, from the abolition of slavery to ending stigma around HIV/AIDS. Use these items for inspiration and research as you unpack the annual theme, and feel free to explore more sources in the MCNY Collections Portal. Each object record contains descriptive information including date of creation, author/creator, and other pertinent details.

For more information about NYC History Day, visit www.mcny.org/historyday. For more information about the Museum’s collection, visit http://www.mcny.org/collections.
