The City Museum has received funding from the IMLS, the Luce Foundation, and the Louis and Virginia Clemente Foundation to catalog and digitize its preeminent collection of New York silver. The greatest strengths of this collection lie in the years dating from colonial settlement until the first decades of the 20th century and include approximately 2,600 pieces of civic, domestic, religious, and presentation hollowware, flatware, and accessories made by New York silversmiths and designers. This is an ongoing project and images will be added to the Collections Portal as they become available.
