[The annoyances of going to a show.]

Creator Thomas Worth (1834-1917)
Accession number X2011.5.395
Unique identifier MNY295250
Description The misfortune of being little is experienced when some six footer crowds you out of your place while buying your ticket. Coming late and dragging shawls & coats over the heads of those that are seated is another nuisance. Brown being near-sighted takes a seat close to the stage. Here is one of those fellows who clap and and stamp about two thirds of the time during the performance. Playbills, orange peel, etc. from the gallery are sometimes too numerous for enjoyment to those in the parquet. Mr. Younglove in his attempt to throw a bouquet on the stage, caroms on the orchestra leader's head. Jones told his wife that he saw a man he wanted to speak with a moment; see where the wicked man went to. The opera glass nuisance between acts. Last act - pushing from the theater just before the curtain drops.
