Description Pat as a family man at home in Ireland. "Home engagements." Pat - treatment of collection aided by his friend Father P. The Father absolves him. Pat's toleration of another's religion. Encouragement by the Father again [...] take the Orangemen. The governor J. Bull often has to step in & settle things. J. Bull's model boarding house for the Irish. Modern with improvements. "Good riddance to bad rubbish." Pat finding he can't have his own way at home immigrates to America. At Castle Garden he is met by friends who transform him to an Irish American. Next day being drilled in what to do & say he is made an American Citizen & can vote often as he likes. By great & repeated efforts in a few years he gets the nomination for Alderman of the great city of New York.
