Description Eight-day clock of pocket watch form with blue steel hands, white enamel face with black hour numerals and red seconds, clear watch glass, mounted in sterling silver frame of serpentine outline, engraved with three roundels depicting views of the IRT subway and presentation inscription, purple velvet easel backing lined with purple silk satin, and enamel of face cracked with losses. Inscription: Engraved on front face: Presented to / August Belmont/Maker of the Brooklyn Subway / BY BROOKLYN CITIZENS / MAY 1 / 1908. Mark: Struck on base: [device] STERLING 310.
