On bowl obverse: U.S. SUB TREASURY / WALL STREET / NEW YORK. On handle reverse in raised lettering: ON THIS SITE IN FEDERAL HALL ON APRIL 30. 1789 / GEORGE WASHINGTON TOOK THE OATH AS THE FIRST / PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Mark: Marked on bowl obverse, rubbed: [?] & S PAT STERLING.
