Description
Sugar bowl from tea service with raised melon-reeding oblong body with diamonds at the top of the reeds, die-rolled floral-and-leaf borders in three sizes at lip, shoulder, juncture of the body and pedestal base, and edge of stepped oval pedestal, loose cover ornamented with repoussé-chased leaves and buds, cast basket-of-flowers finial, and bowl with two cast S-scroll handles. Inscription: Engraved with script initials, the initials are worn: MCC [or] GMC. Scratched on base: 27/19. Mark: Struck on inside of foot: W. Thomson.
