Description Sugar bowl part of a three-piece tea service with raised round melon-reeded body with diamonds at top of reeds, die-rolled floral-and-leaf borders in three sizes applied at lip, shoulder, juncture of the body and pedestal, and edge of stepped circular pedestal, loose cover of sugar bowl ornamented with repoussé-chased leaves and buds and basket-of-flowers finial, and two cast S-scroll handles. Inscription: Engraved on body: J.M.B Jr. / from his / Grandmother / E.B.  Engraved in upper and lower-case italics on underside of foot: Mary Bradhurst 1840 Augusta Currie Field 1880 Mary Pearsall Field 1919 / William Bradhurst Osgood Field Jr. 1929. Mark: Struck twice on underside of sugar bowl in script within conforming enclosure: W Thomson.
