Description
Sugar bowl from tea service, inverted pyriform on stepped circular foot, repoussé-chased with asymmetrical Rococo scrolls, raffles and floral motifs, cover with applied reeded molding at edge, and cast raffle footring/finial applied around central engraved flower. Inscription: Engraved within reserve on the body: [Van Rensselaer crest, a high basket, from which issue flames, all proper] / PSVR. Mark: Struck on base in rounded rectangle: PDR.
