Description Pitcher with raised urn-shape body on domed circular pedestal base, heart-and-palmette die-rolled border in two sizes, floral-and-scroll repoussé-chased ornament on body and base, applied molding around lip, cast S-scroll handle with leafy furls and shell, and leafage chased under neck. Inscription: Engraved on body in script: "The members of/the/Board of Aldermen/of 1850 & 51/To their President/Morgan Morgans Esqr." Mark: Struck on base: "BALL TOMPKINS & BLACK" in semicircle, "SUCCESSORS TO (in rectangle)/ MARQUAND & CO." in semicircle, "NEW YORK" in rectangle, and "W.F." in rectangle.
