Description Goblet with inverted pyriform body, everted flaring lips on domed circular pedestal base, body decorated with repoussé chased scroll and foliate motifs, rope molding at lip and die-rolled heart border at base and stem. Inscription: Engraved on body in script: "The members of/the/Board of Aldermen/of 1850 & 51/To/Their President/Morgan Morgans Esqr." Mark: Struck on base: "BALL TOMPKINS & BLACK" in semicircle, "SUCCESSORS TO (in rectangle)/ MARQUAND & CO." in semicircle, "NEW YORK" in rectangle, "W.F." in rectangle, with [eagle in oval] twice flanking "MARQUAND & CO.", and "W.F." in rectangle twice flanking "NEW YORK".
