Description
Tea service that consists of teapot, creampot, and sugar bowl with separate cover. Each piece has a seamed oval body, curved cushion shoulder, and slightly convex sides on applied oval footing with bands of bright-cut ornament at shoulder and foot, bright-cut oval reserves flanked by engraved cornucopias on both sides of the body. The teapot and sugar bowl have conforming covers surmounted by boat-shaped urn finials. Teapot also has hinged cover, curved spout and C-scroll wooden handle pinned in silver sockets. Inscription: Engraved within bright-cut reserve on one side: G. B. Engraved within bright-cut reserve on other side: G. B. W. Mark: Struck on underside of base of the teapot: W.G. Forbes
