Description Octagonal kettle from tea and coffee service with alternating panels flat-chased with scrolls and floral decoration, fixed squared silver U-shaped handle with ivory insulators, bolts attached to opposite sides of kettle body fit into lyre-shaped stand over burner and spout in modified S-shape. Burner with pinwheel opening and ivory knob on lever. Inscription: Engraved with Martin crest on body. Engraved on underside of base: 1916. Mark: Marked on base of kettle: [Durgin trademark] / STERLING / 4B / 2 Pts / 3 / THEODORE B. STARR INC. / NEW YORK. Marked on stand: STERLING / 4 / 3. Marked on burner: [Gorham trademarks] G /STERLING / P / [symbol] / PATENTED 1915.
