Accession number 58.331.1.51

Description 25th St & 5th Ave directly opposite the Presidential reviewing stand. A float representing the Wine Grower's Association has just stopped in front of the Grand Stand. The God Bacchus has pourerd out a glass of wine & a young [Sterzer?] one of his attendents and hands the glass to President Harrison. The President is thirsty and leans forward to take the it, when somebody who is standing behind the President says, "Mr. Harrison if you drink that glass of wine it may do you good physically, but it will injure you politically." The President immediately withdraws his hand and thanks the God for his politeness, [Sterzer?] returns the glass to Bacchus who opens his capacious jaws and takes the whole glass in one gulp amid [...] of laughter from the spectators. Notice the change in the countenance of spectators in this picture to the one above.
