Description Benefit of the French Benevolent Society. Part first, “The American”, expressly composed by M. Jullien since his arrival in America, and containing all the principal national melodies, viz. “Hail Columbia”, “The Star Spangled Banner”, etc. Intermission for promenade – 15 minutes. Admission, 50 cents. Secured seats, $1.00. Jullien’s concert books, price 1 shilling, contain, in addition to the full descriptive program of each evening, the lives and portraits of M. Jullien and his eminent artistes, and the music of the American quadrille and prima donna valse, arranged for the piano. On Monday, the benefit of Mlle. Anne Zerr, on which occasion she will sing the song of “The Happy Birdling”, composed by W. V. Wallace. Flute obligato, M. Reichert. M. Collinet, conductor and flageolet solo of the court balls of Napoleon the First, in 1812, this being his last engagement prior to his retirement from public life after 40 years. The new valse, “Wild Flowers”, composed for the Queen of England’s state balls, will be performed for the first time; also the new grand selection and fantasia from M. Jullien’s opera of “Pietro il Grande” for the first time. On Tuesday, the Mendelssohn festival will be repeated.
