The handle depicts a low-relief mythological subject, "Childhood of Bacchus," above tines. Inscription: Engraved with script initials on handle reverse in reserve arranged vertically: JAL. Mark: Die-struck on handle reverse: [lion passant] [anchor] [Gothic G] / STERLING.
