Description Wood's Museum is the authorized successor to Barnum's American Museum. Open from 9 A.M. until 10 P.M. Two performances in the grand theater daily - afternoon at 2; evening at half past 7. "Ixion" and "The Quiet Family" presented every evening and Wednesday and Saturday afternoons. Every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons, the heroic dramatic spectacle, partly taken from Tasso's "Jerusalem", entitled "The Giant of Palestine". Also, "My Neighbor's Wife". Entertainments at intervals in the lecture room, by the Ellinger & Foote combination, engaged at great expense, and in conjunction with a host of living phenomena to be seen at all hours. Com. Foote, the smallest man alive. Miss Eliza Nestelle (sister of Com. Foote), the smallest matured lady ever known. Col. Small is a trifle taller than Com. Foote, and next in miniature size, 18 years of age, and as a female dancer is unsurpassed. Miss Anna Swan, the Nova Scotia giantess, the tallest woman in the universe. Baby woman (Sophia Gantz), an extraordinary child, only two years and ten months old, is in all particulars fully matured, a perfect woman. General Grant, Jr., the famed dwarf. Mons. Bihin, the French giant, the tallest man alive. Mrs. Battersby, giantess, the largest woman alive. Mr. John Battersby, the thinnest man alive. Miss Briggs, the largest girl of her age alive. Menagerie of living wild animals. Automaton leotard, a facsimile of the famed gymnast, from the Polytechnic Institute, London, a piece of mechanism which puzzles all contrivers, performs at 11 A.M., 1, 4 and 7 o’clock, P.M. Cosmoramas on view. Sleeping beauty reposing in gentle slumber. The dying Zouave, the blood may be seen gushing from the gun shot wound in the chest, the eyes roll in agony. The Lord’s Supper, representing Jesus and His Apostles. Carved ivory jewelry and ornaments for sale on the second floor. Clairvoyance and fortune telling by Mme. Deleal, the celebrated astrologer. J. S. Conlin’s patent safety rifle and pistol gallery. Ice cream and refreshment saloon. Retiring rooms for ladies and gentlemen. Ice water from the fountain on the first floor, free to all. The regular scale of prices is as follows: Adults, 50 cents, and children under 10 years of age, 25 cents. This includes admission to the lecture room and family circle of the grand theater for afternoon or evening performances. Tickets for evening performances: family circle, 50 cents. Seats in dress circle or parquette, $1.00. Children under 10 years, 25 cents. Orchestra or balcony chairs, $1.50. Private boxes, $5.00, $6.00 and $8.00. This includes all the departments and museum or menagerie curiosities. Afternoon performances: adults, museum and family circle, 50 cents; children under 10 years of age, 25 cents; museum and dress circle or parquette, 75 cents; and museum and balcony or orchestra chairs, $1.00. Places may be secured in advance, and a liberal discount made to societies and schools by special contract.
