Description
One of a set of four goblets with spun tulip-shape body, gilded interior, on stem continuing to a circular foot, and decorated with repoussé-chased ornamental motifs around two oval reserves. Inscription: Engraved in proper right reserve: "Coll. A. Duryee/from the/merchants/and/Citizens/of/New York"; In proper left reserve: "upon his/retiring from the/Colonelcy/of the 7th Regiment/NATIONAL GUARD/Decr. 1859". Mark: Struck on underside of base, incuse: "1004/[Gothic "M" in oval]/6249" and "TIFFANY & CO./QUALITY/925-1000".
