Description
Teapot with elongated octagonal form, straight seamed spout, wooden C-handle held in silver sockets and domed cover outlined at lip edge by bright-cut border with cast octagonal urn finial held in place with silver screw and nut. Engraved with bright-cut foliate scroll bands and bright-cut and engraved cartouches of draped ermine mantling. Inscription: Engraved within mantling: EMD. Mark: Struck on base in two sizes of Roman caps within conforming rectangle: BAYLEY / [profile of eagle head]. Struck on inside of cover in Roman caps: BAYLEY.
