Description
Tankard with slightly tapered cylindrical body, applied molded baseband with inserted meander wire at top and base, foliate-stamped cut-card band above, raised-and-soldered S-scroll handle ornamented below five-knuckle hinge with engraved leaflike applique, handle terminal ornamented with cast cherub on scalloped disk, meander wire inserted at edge of hinge, cast scroll thumb-piece on double-stepped, flat-top cover engraved with arrowhead band, and crenate flange projection opposite handle engraved with leaflike forms. Inscription: Engraved on handle: initialed "K/A*T/N*K"; On the lid with cipher: "AK"; Body with Baroque mantling around shield surmounted with a casque and plumes on a torse, shield engraved with bell; later inscription on underside of base: "K.M.Brady" in script Mark: Struck twice on lid, once on body near rim, and on base: "W+K/B" within an outlined heart
