Silver porringer with circular bowl, outcurved sides, straight lip and domed base, applied handle with pierced geometric shapes, and elaborate engraved cartouche on body opposite handle. Inscription: On bowl front within reserve: M*C. Later engraving on base in script: M. Jay. Mark: Struck twice, on rim to left of handle and on base off center, barred: [IB in three-lobed shield.]
