Circular salver with flat dished top and molded edge on trumpet-shaped, stepped, circular foot. Inscription: Engraved on underside of top: [barred C] / I*E. Later inscription around underside of top: Jacobus & Eva Van Cortlandt, 1658, John Jay, Maria Banyer, 1829, John C. Jay, 1856, John Jay, 1891, Laura Jay Wells, 1937, F. Jay & Ilona Wells 1942. Mark: Struck twice near edge conjoined in circle: HB.
