Pitcher with ewer-form body raised to shoulder, die-rolled border of hearts with anthemion centers applied at the lip, shoulder, top of the foot and base, and cast scroll handle with oak leaves at each terminal. Inscription: Engraved on body: [lion crest] / M A V Z / To / J V Z. Mark: Marked on inside of foot: J.W. FORBES / [six pseudohallmarks.] Scratched on inside of foot: 327.
