Description
Teapot from tea service with raised oblong body on four cast ball-and-claw feet, narrow die-rolled gadrooned border applied at lip of piece, die-rolled border of acorns, oak leaves, and grape clusters inserted at shoulders, domed hinged lid with cast recumbent-dog finial, spout cast in form of collared dog's head, cast handle sockets of foliage with hairy paw terminals, and carved wood C-shaped handle in form of elongated dog. Inscription: Engraved in script on the base: T S & M Townsend. Mark: Struck twice on the underside in rectangle: I.W. FORBES.
