Description
Sugar bowl from tea service with raised bowl with elongated octagonal body, bright-cut oval reserves at center of body, and lip outlined with bands of roulette work. Flared octagonal foot, shoulders of body sloped to hold high raised lift-off cover edged with bright-cut border with cast urn finial at apex of trumpet-like dome. Part of a five-piece tea service comprising a teapot, teapot stand, sugar bowl, cream pot, and waste bowl. Inscription: Engraved within reserve on one side of body: EV. Engraved within reserve on other side of body: CHV. Mark: Marked on base: S BOWNE.
