Description Kidney-shaped jewelry box with hinged lid on four cast openwork cabriole legs. Lid opens to velvet-lined interior with vertical engine turned stripes centered by an oval reserve on exterior. Inscription: On cover in reserve: "Romance." On front body between legs: With every good wish. January 1st 1916. Mark: In shaped reserves on body: [maker's mark] [lion passant] [leopard] [date letter P]. On cover near hinge and on bezel near hinge, incuse: A 3860. On lid: [maker's mark] [lion passant] [date letter P].
