Trouser ensemble in white plain weave silk printed in geometric black, orange, and yellow block print; tunic-length lightly fitted coat with long drop-shoulder geometric edged cuffed sleeves over high-neck thigh-length tunic and pair of trousers with geometric band at hem; white sandals with chunky heel; silver-tone spiral necklace at throat; turquoise and white beaded pouch suspended from proper right wrist. Shown on “cotton sculpture” clay doll with hand-painted features on dark reddish skin-toned body; posed in wide-stance on rectangular threaded stick mat platform; arms outstretched and pointing down; face upturned with mouth slightly open; long straight black human hair, pronounced eyelashes; paper sign adhered to platform reads “THE AMERICAN INDIAN / ‘From Sea to Shining Sea’.” Ensemble is similar to full-size Ruby Bailey day dress design.
