Description Louis XVI-style armchair with mahogany frame with reeding, stopped fluting and floral rosettes on seat rail above front legs. Upholstered back, seat and arm pads edged with brass nails. Square back with elliptic top, molded edges and bud finials, curved arms with scrolled elbows and upholstery pads, curved stumps with stop-fluting, elliptic seat front and molded seat rail with two rosettes at top of each front leg, legs turned and stop-fluted; back and seat upholstered in blue and white brocade, and studded. Made for and used by Alexander and Elizabeth Schuyler Hamilton.
