Description
Waste bowl from tea service with oblong body, convex sides, and cushion shoulders, foliate bright-cut band at lip, bright-cut engraved wreath and garland around shield-shaped reserves on body and four cast paw feet. Inscription: Engraved on body in reserve:SCH. Engraved on other side of body: Five Pieces / Made of Silver Dollars / Given by Philip J. Arularius / to his daughter Christiana, / on the occasion of her marriage to / Samuel B. Harper, May 11th 1799. Mark: Marked on underside of base: J & PT / [two pseudohallmarks.]
