Raised circular inverted pyriform sugar bowl on lathe-turned stepped, domed, circular foot and applied molding at lip into which the circular slightly domed cover with pinecone finial fits. Inscription: Engraved on base: K / I+C. Engraved on body: [Kip family crest] / Jacobus Kip m. Catherine Kip / July 27 - 1729. Mark: On underside of base within conforming enclosure, in script: S T.
