Description Tankard with plain tapering cylindrical body, molded band at the base, domed lid with crenate edge in front and engraved wreath on top, molded drop at top of the handle, and molded handle tip. The thumbpiece on the handle is missing and the spout was added at a later date. The body is engraved with the de Peyster coat-of-arms and Livingston coat-of-arms and crest. Inscription: Bottom of base engraved: "Robert Gilbert Livingston" ; "Helen Hake" ; "Frederic de Peyster" ; "Johnston Livingston de Peyster"; Engraved on the body: [de Peyster coat-of-arms and Livingston coat-of-arms and crest]/Motto "Spero Meliora".
