Description
Tankard with slightly tapered cylindrical body, molded baseband and applied foliate cut-card band above, two-part raised and soldered S-scroll handle with oval vent hole at base, beaded rattail applied to handle, cast cherub's head mask on oval disk handle terminal, bulbous double-drop with rattail on body below upper joint with handle, stepped flat-top cover with five-knuckle hinge, cast cocoon thumbpiece, engraved crenate projecting flange at front, and engraved arrowhead circle at center containing monogram [later spout removed, 1962]. Inscription: Engraved with later feathered script initials "C.M.O." in center of cover within reserve. Mark: Struck on either side of handle near rim: "C LR" conjoined in oval.
