Description Ebonized maple and yellow poplar Louis XVI revival chair with incised gilded decoration and mother-of-pearl inlay. Oval upholstered back in frame with incised gilded line. Turned stiles with finials. Curved crest rail with circle inlaid with butterfly with scrolled palmettes and gilded, fluted palmette on top. Square seat with rail inlaid with mother-of-pearl stars and blocks of gilded flowers at knees. Trumpet-turned front legs. Stiles, skirt and front legs all with incised gilded vines and/or fluting. Upholstered in gold.
