Description
Teapot with oval seamed body with straight seamed spout ornamented with bright-cutting on both faces, bright-cut borders at base and below sloping shoulders of the body, bright-cut and engraved cartouches of draped ermine mantling enclose bright-cut shield-shaped reserves, C-shaped wood handle with furl pinned in cylindrical silver sockets, and hinged conforming domed cover with cast pineapple finial secured by silver screw and nut. Handle is cracked near top joint with old repairs to upper handle/body joint. Inscription: Engraved in one shield-shaped reserve: [ship-in-distress crest]. In other reserve in script: RRL.
