Description Jewelry box in the form of a Rococo commode with cabriole legs, hinged top outlined with scrolls and flowers and centering an embossed eighteenth century scene. Box opens to fitted red velvet and satin interior with seven slots for rings. Base covered in black leather. Inscription: Engraved on box: Victoria Regina / 1935-38 / Helen Our Queen / A Tribute of Love and / Affection From the Die Hards / 100th Week Victoria / British Columbia / May 5, 1938. Mark: Marked on edge of base: W. G. [London hallmarks for 1924.] Marked on edge of lid: [Maker's mark] / [lion passant] / [date letter.] Marked on reverse of base, incuse: W. THORNHILL & CO. LTD 144 NEW BOND ST.
