Schenck/for the best piece cotton shirting made/at the Matteawan factory/13th March 1821"; Scratched on base: "Bradford (&) Woolcock(s) 38 Nassau Street/New York". Mark: Struck on underside of base, in italics: "P. Chitry" in rectangle.
