Mug with seamed tulip-shape body with everted lip, die-rolled gadrooned bands applied at lip and base, and cast scroll handle. Inscription: Engraved on body: "From/The New York County/Agricultural Society/to/Peter H. Schenck/for the best piece cotton shirting made/at the Matteawan factory/13th March 1821"; Scratched on base: "Bradford (&) Woolcock(s) 38 Nassau Street/New York". Mark: Struck on underside of base, in italics: "P. Chitry" in rectangle.
