Description
After the play, the favorite interlude, "Blue Devils". To which will be added the favorite farce, "The Lying Valet". Principal scenery in "Columbus" - Portico of the Temple of the Sun; in the background the sea; sun rising; the sun is obscured by clouds; a thunderstorm – the sea agitated – a ship appears. An Indian country – with a grand procession of Indians, bearing presents, standards, etc. Sea coast; ships at anchor; the landing of Columbus in triumph, with martial music and colors flying. The Temple of the Sun. An Indian town – outside the Temple of the Sun, in the background a mountain. Thunder and lightning; earthquake; part of the mountain is dislodged; a turret of the temple is thrown down; a violent crash, a part of the temple falls, a violent shock, and the volcano is seen discharging flames, lava, etc. Inside of an Indian house – procession of Spaniards, on the return of Columbus.
