Description As they appeared on the Beacon Course, N.J., August 1st, 1839, in the great performance by "Dutchman" of trotting with Hiram's weight 154 lbs. on his back 3 miles in 7 minutes and 32 1/2 seconds, a feat which up to the present date (Oct. 1871) though essayed by many of our best "modern trotters" has never been equalled.
