Description
Inverted pyriform pitcher from tea service with circular body on circular, stepped foot with die-rolled shell-and-leaf borders in two sizes applied at lip, shoulder, lower midsection, juncture of body and foot, and edge of foot and reserve under spout created by repoussé-chased oak and laurel leaf wreath. Cast S-scroll handle with leafage at both terminals. The lower body of the pitcher is raised and the upper section is seamed. Inscription: Engraved on body, in script: Baldwin. Mark: Marked once on underside: J. H. Connor. Marked twice on underside: New-York.
