Description
Teapot with seamed straight-sided oval form with straight seamed spout, wood C-scroll handle with furl pinned into cylindrical silver sockets, applied reeded molding at base, sloping shoulder outlined with applied reeded molding, incurved section above with applied molding at lip, concealed hinge on domed cover surmounted with cast urn finial, band of bright-cut swag-and-tassel ornament on body at base and shoulder, and bright-cut octagonal reserves with bowknot, leaf, and flower surrounded on both sides of the body. Inscription: Engraved within one reserve in script: ER. Mark: Struck on pot base: I [pellet] V / [two pseudohallmarks].
