Description
Cann with center punch on underside of base, body with slightly bulbous sides tapering upward to everted lip, on circular molded footring, S-scroll handle with furl, double drop at upper juncture with body, and oval plate at lower juncture. Inscription: Engraved on the underside of the base: "M.V.C"; Later inscription: "Married/Peter Jay/Jan.20 1728". Mark: Struck on body near lip to left of handle, conjoined: "HB" in circular enclosure.
