Description The historical facts attached to this hotel stand second to none in this country; having for guests such personages as generals Washington, Wayne, La Fayette, Gates, Greene, Sullivan, Mifflin, Lord Cornwallis and staff of officers.  It was on the 18th of November 1777 that the American Piquet, fired on the British Grenadiers, killing two, but they unfortunately had their blood spilled on the floors of this house, five in number, bayoneted.
