Description
Pyriform teapot with four vertical lobes and everted lip edge with die-rolled scroll-and-floral border on circular domed foot edged with die-rolled scroll-and-floral border. Body ornamented with naturalistic repoussé-chased grapevine and grape clusters creating reserves on each side. Cast S-scroll handle with pendant grape clusters, ivory insulators inserted in teapot handle. Domed cover ornamented with repoussé-chased grapevine and grape clusters surmounted by bud-like cast finial, and cast pot spout with grape clusters and tendrils ending in dragon's head with extended tongue. Inscription: Engraved within reserve on body, in script: JJAK. Mark: Marked on underside of base: C. G. Stone / 188 Canal.
