Description Teapot from tea service with raised round melon-reeded body with diamonds at top of reeds, die-rolled floral-and-leaf borders in three sizes applied at lip, shoulder, juncture of the body and pedestal, and edge of stepped circular pedestal, S-scrolled handle with ivory insulators, cast gooseneck spout with bird's-head tip and acanthus foliage at base, hinged cover ornamented with repoussé-chased foliate and foliage motifs, and cast basket-of-flowers finial. Inscription: Engraved on body: J.M.B Jr. / from his / Grandmother / E.B.  Engraved in upper and lower-case italics on underside of foot: Mary Bradhurst 1840 Augusta Currie Field 1880 Mary Pearsall Field 1919 / William Bradhurst Osgood Field Jr. 1929. Mark: Struck once on underside of teapot base in script within conforming enclosure: W Thomson.
